Primary docs: Editor & AI Assistance
Use this task guide when you want to edit faster without leaving the editor.

Use Inline AI

  1. Open the file you want to edit.
  2. Place the cursor or select the relevant text.
  3. Trigger the inline AI flow from the editor.
  4. Ask for a rewrite, proofread, cleanup, or LaTeX-aware adjustment.
  5. Review the proposed change before accepting it.
  6. Recompile after accepting changes that affect document structure or syntax.

Use AI for Build Problems

  1. Compile the project first.
  2. Read the first real error in the problems or output area.
  3. Use the AI-assisted fix flow if the error is clear but tedious to correct manually.
  4. Treat the fix as a proposal, not a silent mutation.

Search the Project

  1. Open the project search workflow.
  2. Search for file names, labels, references, or repeated text.
  3. Jump directly to matching files and lines.

Best Practices

  • Use AI for reviewed edits, not blind mass changes.
  • Keep snapshots or version history handy before large rewrites.
  • Preserve bibliography and citation structure by reviewing changes carefully.
